New York International Expo

new-york-international-expoSally has been invited to exhibit at the 2012 New York International Art Expo; the worlds largest fine art trade show. Over it’s 33 year history, Art Expo New York has hosted many of the worlds most renowned artists, including Andy Warhol, Peter Max, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Indian, Keith Haring and Leroy Neiman.

With attendees from all over the world, Art Expo New York hosts an international audience of industry professionals seeking to discover exciting new works from established and emerging artists.

Art Expo New York 2012 is shaping up to be yet another exciting major international art event! Sally is thrilled to be part of it and will be represented by Serge Gregorian of the New Art Centre, New York, who will be hosting her upcoming solo exhibition in June 2012 (details of which will follow).

Portia Geach Memorial Award

portia-geach-memorial-awardSally was recently invited to guest speak for the Portia Geach Memorial Award at the SH Ervin Gallery on Sunday 30 October about her portrait of Reg Richardson (“Talking Rabbitohs and Rosalie Gascoigne with Reg Richardson”). Sally was joined by respected art historian Annette Butterfield who spoke about the life of Portia Geach and the history of the award.

Hawkesbury Art Prize 2011

hawkesbury-art-prize-2011Sally’s latest achievement to be announced is that her painting, “Running Free On Whale Beach”, has been selected amongst the 50 finalists for the inaugural Hawkesbury Art Prize 2011. The Art Prize Project is a not-for-profit project to raise funds to promote art and sponsor a local student to pursue their creative education. It is structured as a community event in partnership with the University of Western Sydney and SIFE, and will attract a wide audience and high profile participants to the Hawkesbury region, embracing the cultural and economic environment of the region.

The opening night will take place on Saturday 19th November 2011 at 6:00pm, and will be officially opened by the Hon, John Brown. The awarding of prizes will also take place. For more information on this art prize go to www.purplenoongallery.com.au

Portia Geach Art Prize Finalist

portia-geach-art-prize-finalistSally is thrilled to be selected as a finalist in this year’s Portia Geach Art Prize (2011), with her painting of Reg Richardson titled “Talking Rabbitohs and Rosalie Gascoigne with Reg Richardson”. The Portia Geach Memorial Award is an annual award for Australian female portraitists. The award was established in 1961 as a testamentary trust by Florence Kate Geach, sister of Australian painter Portia Geach, with an initial endowment of 12,000 Australian pounds. It has grown into what has become the most prestigious art prize in Australia for women only.

New Representation In New York

Sally has new representation in New York! The Contemporary Art Network (otherwise known as CAN) is the only organization in America integrating promotion, marketing, art consulting, and exhibition opportunities in a professional gallery environment. Working with some of the world’s best art critics and curators, CAN is focused on new effective strategies engaging artists in a sustained multimedia campaign. Sally has a 3 year contract with the gallery and therefore will be involved in 3 annual group exhibitions (in January 2010, 2011, and 2012) and her first solo exhibition in New York which is scheduled for April 2011. Medial 3 Art Biennial (2009)

Sally is proud to announce that she has been selected for inclusion in the medial 3. art biennial [2009]. Sally received the Honorable Award/Diploma of Excellence in this international juried art competition for her painting “out near blow clear”. Members of the jury include:

Societe Nationale Des Beaux-Arts SNBA Salon 2009

Sally is thrilled to accept an invitation to exhibit in the Societe Nationale Des Beaux-Arts SNBA Salon 2009 in Paris from 10th – 13th December. This will be Sally’s first exhibition in Paris and she is very excited about the opportunity.
