2022 FINALIST Tacit Still Life Art Prize

Now an annual event and open to all Australian-based artists, this art prize will run from Friday 9 – Saturday 24 December 2022. For this year, judges are focussing on the theme of object narratives. This prize looks to highlight the diversity and vitality of object narratives and its interpretation and meaning within the genre of still life. Selection of finalists is determined by a cohesive body of three works presented within a consistency of genre and in the same medium, manner and presentation. Sally is delighted to have 2 artworks selected as FINALISTs in this year’s prize – “Friday”, 90x120cm, oil on canvas and “The Cane Chair”, 75x100cm, oil on canvas. 2022 FINALIST Bluethumb Art Prize

Celebrating a growing community of Australia’s strongest emerging and established artists, Bluethumb is proud to present its annual Bluethumb Art Prize for 2022. This year will mark the Bluethumb Art Prize as the largest and richest art prize in Australian history, with a total prize pool of $250,000. Sally West is a finalist in the Bluethumb Art Prize 2022 with her painting “South Palmy – Plein Air”, 100x150cm, oil on canvas. This year they received a record breaking number of entries – over 8,800 – from which a shortlist of 440 finalist artworks has been selected. 2022 FINALIST Fisher’s Ghost Art Prize

The Fisher’s Ghost Art Award is an annual art prize inviting artists to submit works in a variety of artistic categories and mediums. Now in its 60th year, there is $72,000 in prize money to be won.  The Open Award is acquisitive to the Campbelltown City Council collection and in 2022, in celebration of the 60th Anniversary; the award is valued at $60,000. 2022 WINNER OF THE PAINTING AWARD – HORNSBY ART PRIZE

The Hornsby Art Prize is an annual art award and exhibition organised and sponsored by Hornsby Shire Council and delivered in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society. FINALIST 2022 MSC Maritime Art Prize

The Mission to Seafarers’ Maritime Art Prize & Exhibition is an international competition that is hosted at the heritage-listed Mission building in Melbourne’s Docklands and this year is celebrating 20 years of promoting excellence in maritime and seafaring subjects in art. Held online for the past two years (due to the coronavirus pandemic), the welcome return to an in-person exhibition and opening night celebration is highly anticipated. Artists were invited to respond to the theme ‘The Relationship of Humanity to the Sea’ for their share of $25,000 in prize money across five categories. Sally is thrilled to announced “Little Manly – Plein Air”, 100x100cm, oil on canvas, has been selected as a FINALIST.

2022 FINALIST CALLEEN ART AWARD

The Calleen Art Award is open to artists across Australia and encourages originality, creativity and excellence in the visual arts. The Calleen Art Award was founded in 1977 by Art Patron Mrs Patricia Fagan OAM and is made possible with the generous support of the Calleen Trust. The Calleen Art Award finalist’s exhibition at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery is a signature art event in the central west region of NSW. This year the Gallery received 321 entries and 51 works have been selected as finalists by the pre-selection panel of art professionals. The selected artworks consist of a diverse range of visually compelling, thoughtful and challenging paintings. The winning work will join the Calleen Collection housed at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery. Sally is proud to announce her painting “The Crossing”, 100x150cm, oil on canvas, is one of this year’s finalists.

2022 FINALIST GOSFORD ART PRIZE

The Gosford Art Prize is a hotly contested event with local and national artists vying for $25,000 in prizes. With no restriction on artwork medium, the exhibition of finalists includes a wide variety of art forms from painting and sculpture to textiles and photography. The Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2022 is a national contemporary two-dimensional (2D) award presented by Sunshine Coast Council. There is over $40,000 in prizes. The acquisitive Major Prize award winner receives $25,000 cash, sponsored by Sunshine Coast Council and Argon Law. Sally is thrilled to announce that her painting “The Servo”, 100x150cm, oil on canvas, has been selected as a FINALIST in this years art award.

2022 FINALIST Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award

With a first prize of $20 000, the Lethbridge Art Award is open to national and international artists for small-scale artworks. Entrants may submit 2D or 3D artworks up to 61cm (24 inches) in height, width or depth. The Judging is based on three equally evaluated criteria of creativity, originality and skill. Sally is thrilled to announced that “One Day”, 45x45cm, oil on canvas has been selected as a finalist this year.

2022 Salon Des Refuses, Lethbridge Landscape Art Prize

Lethbridge Gallery believes in the power of art to understand, interpret, and explore the place we live. They wish to establish the Landscape Prize to celebrate and develop this important genre.
