FINALIST 2017 FISHER’S GHOST ART AWARD

The Fisher’s Ghost Art Award coincides with Campbelltown’s annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost. Held over 10 days, the Festival dates back to 1956 and celebrates Australia’s most famous ghost – Frederick Fisher. Go to http://c-a-c.com.au/fishers-ghost-art-award-2017/ for more information.

The Open section of the Art Award is acquisitive to the C-A-C permanent collection and is awarded prize-money of $20,000. In the past it has been awarded to some of Australia’s most respected Contemporary artists including Elisabeth Cummings, Khaled Sabsabi, Justene Williams, David Bromley, Marion Borgelt, Raquel Ormella and Philip Wolfhagen.

Sally is pleased to announce that both her entries have been selected as FINALISTS for this years award (“The Bottle Shop”, 120x150cm, oil on canvas, and “Dad”, 120x150cm, oil on canvas ).

FINALIST 2017 Gosford Art Prize

The Gosford Art Prize is a hotly contested event with local and national artists engaged in friendly competition for over $24,000 in total prizes. The exhibition offers the artist an opportunity to let their work stand on its own, to be judged and appreciated on a level playing field, with each work vying for the viewer’s attention. WINNER 2017 Northbridge Art Prize, Painting Section

The Northbridge Art Prize is an annual exhibition for adults and teens. The exhibition in its 14th year showcases the diverse talents of both local and interstate artists and is an opportunity for artists to display their work and be recognised for their unique achievements. Sally’s work “The Next Day”, 75x75cm, oil on canvas, has been announced WINNER of the Painting Section. Sally was an overall winner of the same prize in 2014.

FINALIST 2017 Cliftons Art Prize

Cliftons Art Prize is an annual competition that helps raise the profiles of local artists and encourages corporate patronage of the arts. Cliftons Art Prize offers international exposure for local artists across Asia Pacific. It is open to emerging and established artists in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore. Sally’s work “Yellow Van”, 120x150cm, oil on canvas, has been selected as a FINALIST in 2017.

FINALIST 2017 NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize

The NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize is an acquisitive art prize of $20,000, awarded for the best ‘plein air’ painting of NSW subject. The NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize is an annual event and is recognised by plein air artists throughout Australia. The Parliament of NSW encourages all artists to enter this landscape painting prize, with finalists exhibited at the Parliament of NSW, Sydney in October 2017. Sally is pleased to announce “Blues Point 1 (1.5.17) – Plein Air”, 60x75cm, oil on canvas, has been selected as a FINALIST. 

FINALIST 2017 ANL MARITIME Mission To Seafarers Art Prize

Since 2002 the Mission to Seafarers Victoria’s Maritime Art Awards & Exhibition has showcased the work of over 700 artists and is Australia’s leading maritime art prize. The exhibition is open daily for public viewing from 6th – 27th October, 2017 at the historic seafarers’ centre at 717 Flinders Street, Docklands from 12 noon – 6pm.  Sally is very honoured to have both her entries selected for this year’s art prize: “Pittwater Study (7.4.17) – Plein Air”, 75x75cm, oil on canvas AND “Berry’s Bay – Plein Air”, 60x75cm, oil on canvas. WINNER 2017 People’s Choice Award OUTBACK ART PRIZE

In 2017, The Pro Hart Outback Art Prize received a record number of entries, with over 260 Submissions. From these submissions, 43 Finalists were chosen to be put in the exhibition at Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery, where guest judge Kon Gouriotis OAM had the challenging task of choosing this year’s winner.

The Pro Hart Outback Art prize is an annual acquisitive competition, which showcases work in any form of media, to reflect the spirit and diversity of the Australian Outback.

For the duration of the Exhibition, Locals, Artists and Travellers from all across the Globe came to visit the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery to view the fantastic collection of works that made up this years exhibition. All guests who visited the Gallery were encouraged to place their vote for the “People’s Choice 2017”.

Winning by just a single vote this year was Sally West, with her Oil Painting – Down the paddock – Plein Air.

FINALIST 2017 Manning Art Prize

After 25 years, the Manning Art Prize has become a prestigious national event on the Australian Arts Calendar and is open to artists in a variety of mediums. The lucrative event this year carries a $20,000 prize pool. The winning entry will be acquired by the Friends of the Manning Regional Art Gallery and donated to the Manning Regional Art Gallery permanent collection. FINALIST 2017 Waverley Art Prize

“Blue Chair”, 75x100cm, oil on canvas, has been selected as a finalist in the Waverley Art Prize 2017.
