In 2017, The Pro Hart Outback Art Prize received a record number of entries, with over 260 Submissions. From these submissions, 43 Finalists were chosen to be put in the exhibition at Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery, where guest judge Kon Gouriotis OAM had the challenging task of choosing this year’s winner.
The Pro Hart Outback Art prize is an annual acquisitive competition, which showcases work in any form of media, to reflect the spirit and diversity of the Australian Outback.
For the duration of the Exhibition, Locals, Artists and Travellers from all across the Globe came to visit the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery to view the fantastic collection of works that made up this years exhibition. All guests who visited the Gallery were encouraged to place their vote for the “People’s Choice 2017”.
Winning by just a single vote this year was Sally West, with her Oil Painting – Down the paddock – Plein Air.
