Now in its seventh year, this annual contemporary art prize attracts entries from some of the best artists across Australia and offers a chance for local and emerging artists to exhibit alongside them. Sally is thrilled to have received news that “The Top Shops”, 100x100cm, oil on canvas, has been selected to be included in this years list of finalists. Exhibition runs from 13 May to 27 June at the Wyndham Art Gallery.

2020 FINALIST Vincent Art Prize
Unselected works from the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Art Prizes who are clients of Art Van Go automatically go into the Vincent Art Prize for judging. This year the art prize was judged and curated by Lucy Culliton. 25 finalists were selected and were hung at the Duck Rabbit Gallery in Redfern. Sally was very excited to be included in the exhibition with her piece “The Servo”, 100x150cm, oil on canvas.
2020 FINALIST Mission To Seafarers Maritime Art Prize
The Mission to Seafarers Maritime Art Prize is an international competition that has been hosted at the heritage-listed Mission building in Melbourne’s Docklands for eighteen years. The Exhibition will be online only this year. Sally is thrilled to have her painting “Bradley’s Head (1.8.19) – Plein Air”, 90x120cm, oil on canvas, selected as a FINALIST in the 2020 Art Prize.
2020 FINALIST Gosford Art Prize
The Gosford Art Prize is a hotly contested event with local and national artists vying for $25,000 in prizes. With no restriction on artwork medium, the exhibition of finalists includes a wide variety of art forms from painting and sculpture to textiles and photography. Sally is thrilled to announce her painting “The Clowns”, 120x120cm, oil on canvas, has been selected as a FINALIST in the 2020 art prize.
2020 FINALIST Percival Portrait Prize
The biennial Percival Portrait Painting Prize is North Queensland’s own portrait competition. Having begun in 2007, The Percivals is an open competition for artists. While showcasing the outstanding and innovative work currently being produced by Australian artists, the competition has also given many emerging artists an opportunity to engage with portraiture and share their expressions of themselves and those close to them. The exhibition will be held at the Perc Tucker Regional Gallery. 2020 FINALIST Gallipoli Art Prize
Sally is thrilled to be selected as a FINALIST in the 2020 Gallipoli Art Prize with her piece called “Troops Swimming At Anzac Cove”, 40x50cm, oil on oil paper, mounted on board and framed. The concept of conducting art prize competitions in both Australia and Turkey to commemorate the legacy of those heroes who fought on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915 was conceived in 2004 and developed during 2004-2005.
The Gallipoli Art Prize will be awarded to the artist who best depicts the spirit of the Gallipoli Campaign as expressed in the Club’s “Creed”. The Club’s Creed is: “We believe that within the community there exists an obligation for all to preserve the special qualities of loyalty, respect, love of country, courage and comradeship which were personified by the heroes of the Gallipoli Campaign and bequeathed to all humanity as a foundation for perpetual peace and universal freedom.”

2019 FINALIST Fisher’s Ghost Art Award
Fisher’s Ghost Art Award is an annual art prize inviting artists to submit works in a variety of artistic categories and mediums. With a total of $38,000 in prize money to be won, the Open section is acquisitive to the Campbelltown City Council collection and is valued at $25,000. The Fisher’s Ghost Art Award coincides with Campbelltown’s annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost. Held over 10 days, the Festival dates back to 1956 and celebrates Australia’s most famous ghost – Frederick Fisher. In the past the Open Award has been awarded to some of Australia’s most respected contemporary artists including Elisabeth Cummings, Khaled Sabsabi, Justene Williams, David Bromley, Marion Borgelt, Raquel Ormella, Philip Wolfhagen, Tina Havelock Stevens and most recently Brian Fuata. The Georges River Art Prize showcases a range of the finest paintings and sculptures produced from artists nationwide and gives local young artists a platform to display their works. This prize, hosted by Hurstville Museum & Gallery, offers over $20,000 in prize money. Exhibition dates: 25 October 2019 – 30 January 2020. The Hornsby Art Prize is an annual art award and exhibition organised and sponsored by Hornsby Shire Council and delivered in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society.
